AKS netballers took to the courts again and this time came across tough opposition in the form of Merchant Taylor’s School.

U16/U15 team played in a tightly contested match with both teams putting in a tremendous effort, showcasing their skill and determination. It was a closely fought battle, with the lead changing hands throughout the game and neither team willing to give an inch.

Individual performances were exceptional, with players displaying their talent and commitment. Each player gave their all, demonstrating great skill and showcasing their ability to make impact. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every move they made. Although the team ultimately fell short in the end, losing 13 – 19 their efforts should not be overshadowed. They can take pride in their performance, knowing that they left nothing on the court.  Player of the match was Harper C.

In a challenging Under 14 match against Merchant Taylors, AKS displayed resilience and determination. Despite facing strong opposition, our players showcased commendable effort and sportsmanship, highlighting areas for growth and strategic refinement. We started slowly against a well drilled merchant’s team but as the game progressed we improved both the accuracy of our passing and our ability to get free with only the final pass in to the circle letting us down. The experience gained from this match will undoubtedly contribute to the team's development moving forward. Players of the match were Emily R and Anika R

The U13 Netball match really was a game of four quarters.  It was a close fought match in the first quarter with Merchant Taylor's taking the lead 2-1.  The ball moved from end to end and battled hard.  As they moved into the second quarter, Merchant kept the lead but AKS were gaining in confidence and starting to play more accurate netball.  AKS worked hard to play the ball around into their attacking circle.  Esme M was outstanding in defence, intercepting the vast majority of Merchant's attacking play.  As they went into half time it was 4-2 Merchant's.  AKS found their feet in the third quarter and were able to take complete control of the game.  This saw them convert more chances and go 7-4 in the lead as they went into the final quarter.  Merchant Taylors came back determined with a tight finish seeing both teams on 8-8 and a fair final score-line.  AKS were able to deal with various changes to their team and keep a level head in order to play some great netball. Players of the match were Isla C and Esme M.

The Year 7 girls put in a much improved performance in their match against a strong Merchant Taylors School, demonstrating commendable skills, notably in the realm of defense. We started slowly frequently losing possession which enabled Merchant’s to go ahead on the scoresheet with some accurate play and shooting. We slowly gained more control and pass the ball down the court more accurately but the final pass into the circle often let us down and limited our scoring opportunities.  AKS's strong defensive play contributed significantly to the team's overall performance, showcasing promising talent for the future. Despite losing the team grew in confidence and enjoyed the game with Gracie S voted player of the match by Merchant’s and Alyssa W by AKS
