After taking time off to study and revise for her exams throughout 2023, AKS’s Year 12 pupil Evie F is going from strength to strength on the England Archery scene and her record breaking achievements have been duly recognised by the England Archery Team selectors.
Evie was selected to represent both the England Junior Ladies and the England Senior Ladies Teams at the Archery GB National Indoor Championships at Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
The Championships were held over the first weekend in December and consisted of Junior and Senior Home Nations as well as individual competitions, attracting over two thousand of the best archers from across the UK.
This was Evie’s second time representing England Junior Ladies in the Home Nations Junior competition and her debut for the England Senior team in the Senior Home Nations competition and once again she impressed.
The Senior Competitions were held on the first day and it was a Team Gold Medal for England Senior Barebow Team in the Home Nations Event with Evie playing her part with a superb score towards the team total
The second event saw Evie compete in the highly competitive Senior Ladies Barebow Individual Event and not overawed by her older opponents Evie excelled to take the Bronze Medal.
Day2 saw the Junior Competitions take plave and Evie got off to a great start by achieving the highest individual qualifying score in the Junior Ladies Barebow competition and winning the Gold Medal in the Under 18’s Junior Ladies Individual Event. Evie also helped the England Junior Team achieve a credible 2nd place in the Home Nations Event and add another medal to her growing collection.
With great performances over the weekend Evie is keeping her fingers crossed for her first selection to the Great Britain Junior team for the forthcoming European Indoor Championships in Croatia in 2024.
