Sixth Formers take the lead on UK Parliament Day

PUBLISHED 08 November 2023

We were delighted to have Councillor Redcliffe join us for UK Parliament Day on Tuesday 7th November. He spoke in our whole school assembly about Parliament and Democracy.  This was followed by four of our Sixth Formers who debated "where should government funding be allocated?".

All students then had the opportunity to vote at our AKS polling station, with the winning candidate being Maia C (Year 13), who campaigned for The NHS. After hearing the outcome, she said, "Thank you to everyone who participated in the vote yesterday and supported my case for the NHS funding. The NHS appreciates your understanding of their importance and impact within British society and why they are in urgent need of such funding."

If you would like your son or daughter to see all the opportunities that our Sixth Form offers please do come along to our Open Event and see for yourself all that AKS has to offer:

Scholarship applications for Year 12 entry to Sixth Form are now open. Contact admissions@akslytham.com for further information.
