On Thursday 29th June, AKS Nursery & Prep School took to the track, and with runners as young as 6 months old all the way through our Year 6's in the final Prep Sports Day, the day was a huge success and a final sports event for 2023.
With our EYFS & KS1 athletes competing, we had some great races, starting with our youngest entrants in the baby crawl ably supported by our nursery staff, followed by our Ladybirds and Bees in their sprint and obstacle race. In our KS1 races, we had lots of smiles and fun and individual race winners.
Our overall Boy & Girl Champions were:
Reception: Tate & Sophia H
Year 1: Charlie H & Florence K
Year 2: William H & Ava S
House Champions: Leighton
Our KS2 event continued with the same enthusiasm and efforts from the pupils and after weeks of practicing, it was time to put that training into practice. With all races proving competitive and with many so close to call at the finish line, the levels of development and improvement was clear for all to see.
With the weather having hampered our field events previously, we will get these done over the next few days and will then be able to announce the overall Boy & Girl Year Group Champions.
