It has been an explosive start to AKS Prep Sport this term with gold medal success for our Indoor Athletic athletes on Tuesday 17th January in the LSA Sportshall athletics at Blackpool Sports Centre.

Competing against 7 other local Primary schools, AKS had to be at their best, and with some excellent performances in both the track and field events, both the boys and girls won their respective groupings with the boys claiming four 1st place finishes out of six in the field events and the girls claiming four 1st place finishes out of six on the track.

The squad now moves forward onto the Wyre & Fylde Sportshall Athletics Finals on the 1st March, massive WELL DONE to the whole squad. We are all looking forward to the next challenge!

On Monday 9th January our AKS U11 Girls footballers took part in the Wyre & Fylde Football Festival hosted here at AKS. With the arctic weather rolling in, all the girls did fantastic and despite some very close games the girls just missed out on reaching the Plate final.

Friday 13th January, and our U10 Boys footballers travelled to Platt Lane in Manchester to compete in the AJIS U10 Boys Festival. With Independent Schools from all over the Northwest competing, the competition was very high. Not to be feared, the boys played some good football and had some exciting end-to-end games which saw them earn some respectable results.

Saturday 14th January, and the AKS U11 A & B girls took on Queens Chester at hockey at AKS Lytham. On another bitterly cold morning, both teams did well and earned 1 win and a draw from the 2 fixtures, the A team winning 1.0 and the B team drawing 2-2.

We now look forward to AJIS U10 & U11 Indoor Athletic Finals on Thursday 26th January at Wigan Robin Park Sports Centre and both the boys' and girls' next rugby and hockey fixtures, Boys training matches on Wednesday 25th January at home to Highfield Priory and Girls in the Rossall Hockey Invitational on Wednesday 1st February.

Our KS1 children will also be taking part in the Wyre & Fylde Inclusion Multi-Skills Festival on Thursday 2nd February to be hosted here at AKS.

Have a great weekend!
