AKS netball teams enjoyed success on the local netball scene as the U14 B team won the Fylde & Wyre tournament, remaining undefeated, and the A team finished third  in a very competitive tournament.

The B team tournament was a round robin format with all teams playing each other. We started the tournament well with a good 5 - 0 win against Cardinal Allen. Excellent, accurate passing and good shooting saw us secure our first points on the board. The second game against Lytham St.Annes was a closer affair but more good shooting by Rosie L kept the scoreboard ticking along and at the final whistle it was another win 6 – 3. With two wins under our belt we went into game 3 with sights set on top spot and after another good display of controlled netball and good defending by all the team we secured a third win against Baines, 7 - 1. We went into our final game against Millfield confident we could lift the trophy and again raised our game. Great circle defending by Stevie S and Niamh M thwarted the Millfield shooters and regained possession for the team. Great accurate passing down the court saw us work the ball into our attacking circle where our shooters were on form to convert and at the final whistle the score was 7 – 2 to AKS and with it top spot. Remaining undefeated throughout the tournament the team were crowned Wyre & Fylde U14 B Team Champions.

The A team played in a very competitive 10 team tournament and finished in a creditable 3rd place. In the group stages the team won 3 matches losing only to Lytham St.Annes and so qualified for the semi-final as group runners up. In the semi-final we face the other group winners St.Aidans and matched them goal for goal in the first half and even went in to a slender lead. St.Aidans however started to convert more of their scoring opportunities and got their noses ahead by the final whistle to win 5 – 3. Despite missing out on a place in the final we finished the tournament on a high playing some superb netball against Fleetwood High in the 3rd/4th play off winning 10 – 0 and claiming 3rd spot.
