Nursery and Prep School turned green for sports day as winning house Gawthorpe claimed the titles in both the Nursery/Infants and Junior sports days for 2022.
With the weather the biggest hurdle to overcome, both days delivered some fantastic individual performances with records smashed and an all-round spectacle of talent on show for all to see.
On Thursday 30th June, our Nursery and Infant children took to the track with our Ducklings, Ladybirds and Bees running for their first time along with our talented Pre-School children. After practicing in their PE lessons, it was great to see the children having fun and enjoying their events on the big day! Congratulations to our year group champions:

On Friday 1st July, after a last-minute postponement on the Wednesday due to the rain, the sun was shining brightly as our Junior pupils took to the field. With both track and field events on show for parents, every child in Years 3 to 6 competed in their year groups, with sprint races, long jump and throwing on show for all.
On track, we saw school records smashed across, in Year 6 Camilla smashed three school records in the 45m hurdles, 80m sprint and 150m sprint, Year 4 saw Jack also break three school records in the 45m Hurdles, 60m sprint and 150m sprint races. In Year 4 we also saw a new record posted for the 400m Boys and Girl Championship race in which Penny and Austin running great races to set the new times in their first time at this distance. Year 3 we saw Evie break two records in 45m Hurdles and the 60m sprint and James and Sienna set new school records for the 400m distance for their first time at this distance.
