Finn R and Ben W took 2 wickets each, 27 from Toby C & 14 from Leyton C were invaluable. POM Sam L with 18, 3 catches and 3 wickets.U13A great effort by our U13 cricket team in the 3rd round of the Lancashire Cup against Blue Coat Liverpool, who made 74. AKS batted very well to make the runs for the loss of only 2 wickets and progress to the Quarter Finals. Wickets were shared with 2 each to Archie J (playing up), Ethan B and Cody B. Xavier D & Freddie B (playing up) combined for a significant partnership to knock off the runs. Well done!AKS 9/86 def Hutton Grammar 5/79. A superb afternoon of cricket played in great spiritU12U12’s lost by 28 runs. Bowland batted first and, after two fairly early wickets Bowland took charge with their 3rd and 4th both going on to retire on quick 30’s a piece. AKS were too loose with the ball, bowling numerous extras or pitching it short for the Bowland big hitters. Freddie B batted beautifully in reply, getting to 30 and retiring, ably supported by Keskin and Jackson. Once we had lost our first four wickets the run rate slowed and we were pinned back by Bowland's very strong bowling lineup. The difference between the sides was two players, each playing county cricket currentlyAKS 99 def Hutton 92. A brilliant team win with bowling and batting shared. A tense finale saw AKS come out victorious! Well done boys! AUTHOR: Samantha Dobson PUBLISHED: 09 June 2022 CATEGORIES: Sport, Senior School
