On Monday 23rd May, Prep School were delighted to play their role in the 2022 Lancashire School Games inter-school relay, involving 57 schools, before the conclusion in Stanley Park, Blackpool in July, aligning with the build-up to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this summer.

Two pupils and two members of staff from Lytham Hall Park Primary School passed Commonwealth Games relay baton to our AKS relay team (Katie and Isaac from Year 5, accompanied Mrs Ilhan, Mr Walmsley and Mrs Brown) under our celebratory balloon arch outside Senior School. The incoming and outgoing teams were cheered on by Pre-School and Prep pupils who lined the drive, cheering and waving flags. Mr Thomas, Prep School Music Co-ordinator, assembled a Year 5 Samba band to add to the welcoming carnival atmosphere.

After taking possession of the baton, the AKS team ran to Ansdell Primary School, where they received a similarly warm reception.

Many thanks to Lee Cadawaller (School Games Organiser/Wyre and Fylde School Sport Partnership) for organising the event and to Mr Moretti for organising AKS' contribution.

Well done to all children and schools who took part in this fantastic day.
