Our Prep School Giant Orchestra joined Mr Thomas' award-winning Blackburn and Darwen Brass Band for a Christmas extravaganza in the Senior School Hall on Wednesday 8th December.
The programme commenced with the Blackburn and Darwen Band's Festive Intrada (Ben Hollins) and Silent Night (John Barber), then Mr Thomas encouraged audience-participation, with the full hall swaying and cheering in time to the uplifting Schneewalzer.
The Prep School choir sang It Was On A Starry Night (Joy Webb), before delighting us with Christmas Is Here, a song penned by Mr Thomas himself, with a fun homage to the well-known jingle from the Coca Cola advert. This set the tone beautifully for more audience participation in the form of traditional carols, Hark the Herald and Away in the Manger.
After the Prep School Orchestra played Jingle Bells, the evening closed with Maria Carey's All I Want for Christmas performed by the Blackburn and Darwen Band.
Thank you Mr Thomas for creating such a fun programme and inspiring our young musicians by involving them in such a wonderful evening.
