Exciting first meeting of AKS Scholars' Society PUBLISHED 25 November 2021 Last Monday saw the first meeting of our newly established Scholars' Society. Part of our programme of enrichment for Academic Scholars, the event saw students from each year group come together to explore ethical issues surrounding social media. Students worked in groups to prepare short presentations on the positive and negative implications of social media, before holding a short debate. Head of Scholars, Mr Waterhouse said, "It was fantastic to see students from Year 7 through to Year 13 all working together in an academically challenging environment. The students showed excellent flexibility of thought and were able to generate thoughtful arguments on both sides of the debate." The next Scholars' Society meeting will be in January, following upcoming academic events, including the inaugural Headmasters' Lecture, as well as our own lunchtime lectures.
