Year 5 Rossall Space Centre Trip

Year 5 had an amazing time at the Rossall Space Centre on their space trip. Dr Nick Lister showed the pupils the night sky and the different constellations in the planetarium. They learnt about the constellations of Orion and the Plough. Dr Nick praised Year 5 for their superb knowledge and behaviour. During the day, the pupils explored and discussed the Solar System and the Sun, enthusiastically completing activities about stars and planets. Year 5 asked many thoughtful questions and were particularly interested in black holes.

Year 5 Reflections:

Pearl, Emily, James and Esme – “Our best bit was sitting on bean bags and lying down in the star room to watch the stars. We watched them in the dark.”

Zach and Luca – “We liked going into the dome to learn about the Ancient Greeks and their connections to the stars.”

Winnie and Pandora – “Dr Nick was so smart and entertaining, making everything so cool. He made the whole day so fun and wonderful!”

Ella, William, Harry, Ariana and Daniel – “We loved the planetarium, seeing the constellations and looking at all the different stars.”

Seb, Molly and Aisha – “Dr Nick helped us a lot. The stars looked real, and we liked learning about the Solar System.”

Ava and Jack – “We thought our Sun was way bigger than the other stars, but actually we learnt they are much, much bigger than our Sun. We had the best time!”

Jasmine and Indie – “We enjoyed it when we went into the night sky to see the stars. Our favourite bit of the trip was the dome. It was so cool. Thank you, Dr Nick.”
