The Great Lancashire Debate Success

Our AKS debate team took part in the Great Lancashire Debate, in which schools were challenged to debate what Lancashire needs most. Our students proposed the idea of a Lancashire Hub - an inclusive, accessible space offering a warm, affordable, and well-resourced environment for the community. Through their research into the county, they identified loneliness as a significant local issue impacting wellbeing and felt that a hub what what the local area needed most.

The team’s compelling case earned AKS the Fylde Trophy and secured Darcey, Isabelle and Antonia their place at County Hall in Preston, where they progressed to the Lancashire final.
