During two days in mid-May, the first of our completed Gold DofE cohort celebrated their achievements by attending the Gold Award Celebration Event situated in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
In true DofE fashion, the weatherforthe two days was decidedly mixed. Erin, who attended on Wednesday, dodged the rain, as did the Duke of Edinburgh himself! On Friday, Evangeline was greeted with wall-to-wall sunshine.
The theme of the day was the same for both girls, one of celebration for their commitment to the DofE programme. Both havebeen tenacious veterans for all three awards, and capping off theirnear four-year commitment at the palace wasa very specialafternoon. Alongside meeting Prince Edward, there was also a range of inspirational speakerson hand, ranging from Hugh BonnevilletoSara Davies MBE.
An unforgettable opportunity was had by allattendeesand I know the remainingGoldcohort will be eager to book their place to attend next year.
