Nineteen Year 11 students successfully completed their three day Silver practice expedition on the fells around Clitheroe. They coped well with the longer distances than at Bronze and navigated successfully over the tops in very misty conditions.
They enjoyed camping on a farm campsite, being woken up by cockerels and chased by ducks and goats. One tent found a horse outside their tent at 5.30am, but they were able to put him back in his field successfully.
They can all be very proud of their achievements and now know the standard expected at Silver level. Their qualifying expedition takes place at the end of the spring term. Well done to all groups.
