The Drama Studio was filled with anticipation as senior students took to the stage for the LAMDA Slam, presenting a series of powerful and engaging monologues. The event celebrated not only the senior students’ progress in their LAMDA studies but also their confidence, creativity, and commitment to performance.
Each student delivered a carefully prepared monologue, ranging from classic dramatic pieces to contemporary works. The variety of performances kept the audience captivated throughout the evening, with moments of humour, tension, and emotional depth woven seamlessly together. Students showed a clear understanding of character, voice control, and physical expression—skills developed through months of dedicated practice.
Importantly, the LAMDA Slam served as invaluable preparation for the students’ upcoming summer LAMDA examinations. Performing in front of a live audience allowed them to refine their timing, build confidence under pressure, and gain a realistic sense of the exam environment.
The evening concluded with enthusiastic applause and a strong sense of achievement. The showcase not only highlighted the talent within the school but also reinforced the value of the performing arts in building confidence and self-expression.
