OAKS Alumni Return to Inspire the Next Generation

We were delighted to welcome two OAKS alumni back to school this week, each sharing their experiences and inspiring current Sixth Form students as they prepare for the next stage of their own journeys.

As part of the PEAKS Plus programme, Priyanka returned to speak with Year 12 students preparing for the UCAT examination over the summer. Drawing on her own experiences of applying to study medicine, she offered invaluable advice on preparing for the test, navigating the medical school application process and staying focused on long-term goals.

Her honest reflections, practical guidance and reassuring approach gave students greater confidence as they begin this important stage of their journey towards careers in medicine and dentistry.

Meanwhile, Max visited the Sixth Form to record a special podcast, reflecting on his time at AKS and the opportunities that helped shape his ambitions. Max spoke about his experiences balancing university studies at Lancaster University with playing rugby at a competitive level, highlighting the importance of commitment, resilience and making the most of every opportunity.

The podcast, which will be released soon, offers current students an inspiring insight into life beyond AKS and the different pathways available after Sixth Form.

We are incredibly proud to see our alumni returning to give back to the AKS community. By sharing their experiences, Priyanka and Max have provided invaluable encouragement, practical advice and inspiration for the next generation of OAKS students as they prepare for exciting futures of their own.

A huge thank you to both Priyanka and Max for taking the time to support our students. We look forward to following their continued success and sharing Max's podcast in the coming weeks.
