The AKS community came together in fantastic spirit for the 40th Annual Longest Day Challenge, with more than 50 participants taking part to support an important international cause.
Students from Years 5 to 11 were joined by staff, parents, alumni, friends of AKS and even a few enthusiastic four-legged companions as they teamed up with Blackpool Sunrise Rotary for the annual event.
Thanks to the generosity and determination of everyone involved, the challenge raised £865. Combined with fundraising by Blackpool Sunrise Rotary, the money will support Village Aid Tanzania, helping to provide mosquito nets, wheelbarrows, famine relief and water improvement projects for a Blind Rehabilitation Village in Tanzania.
The Longest Day Challenge has become a much-loved tradition within the AKS community over the past four decades, bringing together people of all ages in support of worthwhile causes while celebrating the values of service, compassion and community spirit.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part, donated and supported this year's challenge. Your efforts will make a genuine difference to the lives of others and have helped ensure that the 40th anniversary of this special event was one to remember.
