Athletics Report – Lancashire Finals of Quad Kids Athletics
U11 Prep School Team – Bronze Medal Winners
On Tuesday, 8th July, just days after the end of term, a dedicated team of athletes from Years 5 and 6 represented our school at the Lancashire Finals of the Quad Kids Athletics, held at the UCLAN Sports Arena.
Our U11 team, made up of 5 boys and 4 girls, showed exceptional teamwork, energy and determination as they competed against the very best schools from across the county. To qualify for the finals was a fantastic achievement, but the team went even further, producing a superb collective performance to score a total of 1674 points, missing out on silver by just 16 points and securing a well-deserved bronze medal.
This outstanding result means our team finished 3rd in all of Lancashire – a truly impressive feat and a testament to their commitment and resilience. Every sprint, jump and throw contributed to the result, and the athletes supported each other brilliantly throughout the morning.
Not only did the team achieve bronze medals, but Isla in Year 5 was also the 3rd highest scoring individual girl across the competition, meaning she took home the bronze medal in the girls’ category.
This success is not only a reflection of the talent in our Prep School, but also a perfect way to round off what has been an amazing year of sport. Congratulations to all the athletes involved – your efforts, both on the day and in training, have made the school incredibly proud.
