School continues more than £2 million investment as it prepares to welcome students for the new academic year.
With contractors working across multiple areas of the AKS site throughout the summer holidays, AKS is continuing to invest in its future through a major programme of improvements, reinforcing its commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for current and future students.
Building on more than £2 million of capital investment to roof refurbishments over the past two years, this latest phase of works includes roof replacement to the Sports Centre and the English and Drama departments, a complete heating replacement programme within the Prep School, refurbishment of Sixth Form facilities and continued investment in digital learning through the phased rollout of one-to-one devices across the Senior School.
AKS Lytham is part of United Learning, a leading group of more than 100 academies and independent schools across the UK. Being part of United Learning provides the school with long-term financial security, access to specialist expertise and the confidence to continue investing in students, staff and facilities. This enables AKS to plan for the future with confidence while continually enhancing the educational experience for every child.
Chair of Governors David Stanhope said: "Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions a family can make. Parents rightly want confidence that their child's school is financially secure, investing for the future and committed to delivering an exceptional education. We are proud that AKS, as part of United Learning, can offer exactly that. That strong foundation allows us to focus on what matters most – delivering an exceptional education and continuing to invest in opportunities for every student.
"Building on more than £2 million of investment over the past two years, together with this summer's programme of improvements and the continued rollout of one-to-one devices across the Senior School, demonstrates our commitment to ensuring every student benefits from outstanding facilities, expert staff and an ambitious vision for the future."
Students returning in September will also benefit from the new Lancaster Room, a dedicated Sixth Form study space created through a generous legacy gift from an AKS alumnus. Additional improvements include the remodelling of Sixth Form toilets, refurbishment of common rooms, internal decoration of science laboratories and drama areas, together with the installation of new lockers to support the school's one-to-one device programme.
Headmaster David Harrow said: "Every investment we make is centred on providing the very best experience for our students. This summer's improvements will enhance teaching spaces, sporting facilities and Sixth Form provision, while our continued investment in technology, curriculum and enrichment ensures every child has the opportunity to flourish academically and personally.
We look forward to welcoming both returning and new students in September as another exciting academic year begins at AKS."
As preparations continue for the new academic year, AKS Lytham is welcoming enquiries from families exploring their educational options for September and beyond. The Admissions Team remains available throughout the summer holidays to arrange individual visits and discuss entry opportunities across the Prep School, Senior School and Sixth Form.
