LSA Classical Association: 'Ancient Worlds Day' at AKS, 27th April

We are delighted to once again partner with the Lytham St Annes Classical Association who are hosting their 'Ancient Worlds' day at AKS on Saturday, 27th April from 10.30am to 4.00pm.
 
This educational hands-on event is FREE and has fun for all the family, including a fancy dress competition, crafts, treasure hunts and immersive games for children and informative talks and the final of the 2024 Ancient Worlds student competition, plus the Presidential Lecture from Professor Michael Scott.
 
Younger children can look forward to:
  • Themed 'dress-up' competition (Ancient Greece, Egypt or Rome)
  • Ancient Worlds face painting (for all ages!)
  • Medusa, mummy and Ancient Egyptian masks and headdresses
  • Wooden treasure boxes to decorate
  • Swords and shields
  • Hieroglyphs to write your name
  • Egyptian collars to decorate 
  • A treasure hunt to find the Lost City of Atlantis - with prizes of course!
For older students there will be:
  • Free sessions on The Virtual Reality Oracle
  • Vocabulous interactive learning
  • Crafts
  • The 2024 Final of the Students Ancient Worlds public speaking Competition
The President of the Association, Professor Michael Scott will be judging the competitions and delivering his annual lecture.
