Freddie & team win Cricket Palace Shield

Congratulations to Freddie and his U11 Lytham Cricket Club team who won the Cricket Palace Shield this summer, beating 18 teams hailing from across Lancashire for the top spot.

The nail-biting final took place between Leyland and Lytham on Wednesday 21st July, with Freddie as wicket keeper for Lytham. He then held his nerve as the last batsman, demonstrating skill and understanding of tactical play to bring the shield home to Lytham.

Leyland batted first, scoring 85 for 7 (net score of 250). Lytham replied by scoring 96 for 8 (net score of 256).
