AKS welcomes Michelle Kinsman to the Science Department PUBLISHED 10 September 2024 Michelle grew up in the coastal town of Blackpool. She pursued her higher education at Lancaster University, where she laid the foundation for her future career. After graduating, Michelle embarked on a nearly two-decade-long career in the pharmaceutical industry as a Medical Representative. During this time, she developed an understanding of the medical field and honed her skills in communication and client relations. After almost 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Michelle decided to follow her passion for education and retrained as a science teacher. Her commitment to making science accessible and engaging for all pupils led her to St George's Academy in Blackpool, where she taught for three years. She has a keen focus on improving the accessibility of science for pupils of all abilities. In addition to her professional achievements, Michelle likes walking in her spare time and enjoys live music. She is also a Duke of Edinburgh leader, guiding and mentoring young people through the challenging and rewarding Duke of Edinburgh programme.
