An abundance of musical talent on display in Prep Instrumental Showcase PUBLISHED 13 June 2024 Our Prep instrumental showcase delivered an evening full of budding musicians demonstrating passion, commitment and musical talent. Once again we managed to have over 55 wonderful performances in a variety of venues to fill the school full of musical energy and enthusiasm. The instrumental room under the leadership of Mr Hodder featured Saxophones, Violins, Cornets, Guitars and beautiful voices. The wide range of instrumentalists is testament to our excellent peripatetic staff who were on hand to accompany and support their students. In the Piano room with Mr Brown, we were treated to musicians from year 1 through to year 4 show great courage to perform (some for the first time!). Finally, in the hall, we had performers from years 5/6 who displayed a real passion for performance, so many singing and playing the piano - some at the same time! We also saw duets by the students themselves which developed ensemble skills and teamwork skills at the same time. The instrumental showcase was a great success, and all performers and parents should be commended for their support, time, and effort to develop such wonderful musicians. A wonderful evening - congratulations to everyone! AUTHOR: Samantha Dobson PUBLISHED: 13 June 2024 CATEGORIES: News, Creative Arts, Prep School
