Samlesbury Hall: a journey back in time for Year 6! PUBLISHED 08 June 2024 On Friday 7th June, Year 6 visited Samlesbury Hall, nestled just six miles east of Preston, Lancashire. Stepping through the ancient oak doors and impressive facade dating back to 1325, they were instantly transported to a bygone era. Their curious eyes explored hidden priest holes, revealing secrets from Lancashire’s turbulent past. The newly opened Attic rooms to include the ghost room captivated their imaginations, surrounded by timber beams and centuries-old artifacts. Here, they learned about the lives of those who once called this historic house home. Outside in the brilliant sunshine, the woodland trail beckoned, and the playground—complete with a mini Samlesbury Hall replica and a Mayflower ship—became a canvas for their youthful creativity. Laughter echoed through the air as they discovered, learned, and played. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Blinston, our Prep School Outdoor Learning Coordinator, for organising this memorable trip alongside Mr. Dreyer. We eagerly anticipate returning next year!
