On the first Saturday of half term, AKS sports coach Luca Lanzani hosted the 13th Lytham Disability Football Tournament with 31 teams from England, Scotland and Wales.
It was a fantastic day of team sport, competition and sunshine. The smooth running of the tournament was attributed to the excellent preparation of the pitches by the groundsmen.
The teams were divided in 6 groups with round robin matches in the morning, followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals in the afternoon.
The winners: East Middlesbrough, Dunton & Broughton, Fleetwood Town FC, South Tyneside, Wrexham and Sken Men.
The Lytham Round Table supported the tournament providing a very kind donation and McDonalds continue to sponsor the tournament by providing a gazebo with free drinks and fruit bags for the entire competition.
Planning for the 2025 tournament is already taking place, with talks with teams from Germany, Italy and other European countries.
A big thank you to Nikki Phillips for all her help and support.
