Tycoons social enterprise ‘Just New Friends’ welcomed ‘Just Good Friends’ for an afternoon of high teas and classic parlour games. Following on the highly successful games evening the Year 12 students have plenty of funds to provide a number of these events throughout the academic year.
Alex, Grace, and Alicia had planned and sourced prizes for the event, Imogen was our social media expert and also took photography.
The afternoon opened with Amy and her team delightfully serving fancy afternoon teas provided by the award-winning catering staff.
A frenzied Beetle drive proceeded Joseph and Tom dealing out 15 rounds of Play Your Cards Right, the cards were certainly cruel as only two winners claimed the prizes. Louis then took charge with his famous and tricky live performance of Name That Tune providing another fabulous round. Prisha and Ben then took on the big event of prize bingo, perhaps the tensest game seen, making the jeopardy of lower than 10 of clubs seem like child’s play. Nearly all gamers were in with a shout of the house, waiting on just one number until it was finally claimed.
A lovely afternoon, it was great to see the students and their chosen charity get on so easily and enjoy themselves. The students could also see their direct impact in providing an afternoon of games, socialising and no small amount of chatting and laughter.
Just Good Friends is a charity run by Bev Sykes and a number of volunteers, their aim is to combat loneliness and isolation in the local community.
