AKS Year 8 pupil Jeremy is celebrating being crowned Lancashire Junior 300m Champion after a superb run in the Championships in terrible conditions. With a time of 41.1s Jeremy finished a second ahead of his nearest rival and this is even more impressive as being a year young he will have the opportunity to defend his title next year. Year 8 Olivia also competed in the Junior 300m and finished in 6th place but her time of 48.5s bodes well for the future.
Other AKS pupils on the podium were Year 9 William who claimed runners-up spot in the Junior Discus with a superb throw of 32.10m which earnt him a County Standard and Year 10 Tristan who finished 3rd in the Intermediate Shot with a putt of 9.50m.
All the athletes stepped up their performances on what was a big stage on the athletics circuit and now they look forward to School Sports Day on Monday.
