AKS U15s progressed to the Lancashire Plate final after a good win over St Edwards College, Liverpool. The first try went to AKS from a lineout on the left. The ball moved swiftly through the hands releasing Brandon to step back inside to touch the ball down.
AKS took control of the game at the breakdown, with Tristan, Tom and Myles causing problems for the St Edwards Attack. Through this AKS won a penalty kicking the ball to the corner and from the resulting lineout AKS passed the ball down the line, this time for Owen to crash over, left of the post, converted by Morgan. St Edwards were not about to give up as they battled fiercely in defence and made headway through strong running in the centres. Despite St Edwards efforts, Chris and Franklin, who were relentless in defence, managed to keep the visitors from scoring.
In the second half St Edwards started well pressuring the AKS line and keeping the ball for periods of time. When in possession Morgan kicked deep in to the St Edwards half and with a strong chase from the the AKS team and a fantastic individual performance from Fraser tackling, put St Edwards under pressure. AKS took the advantage with Toby crashing over from close range. The try of the day came last, as St Edwards cleared their lines and as Owen scooped up the ball in his own half, he set off on a maizy run sliding through the gaps in the defence and scoring to the right of the posts. Morgan kicked the conversion to make the final score 24.0
