AKS Musical 2020 Announced
Our AKS Musical 2020 was announced by Miss Worthington at breaktime on Friday 13th September to a packed drama studio. The students' wait was over as they heard that our next production at The Lowther Pavilion, staged between 23rd-25th January, 2020 will be The Adams Family.
Miss Worthington, drama teacher and show director introduced the show by saying, "It's a show that we know held within its characters and its music, the ability to transform a normal night at the Lowther Pavilion into something epic".
Miss Worthington will be joined by Mr Waterhouse (producer), Mr Brown (musical director) and Miss Preston (choreographer), working together to form the creative leadership team behind the show. All are key members of our newly combined Performing Arts Department, led by Director of Music, Michael Waterhouse. The core creative team for this production will be supported by a range of specialist music teachers from across the department.
As in previous years, it will be our students who will shine. Miss Worthington went on to say, "This is an amazing opportunity for students to come together, united through their passion for performance. Taking part in the musical requires a significant commitmentin terms of time, but in return, is tremendously rewarding."
After last year's sell out performances of We Will Rock You, we know this show will be sure to bring laughter to the Lowther and a spring to our step, wiping any January blues away. Watch out for when tickets go on sale later this term as you'll need to book early for the best seats. AKS shows wouldn't be out of place in the West End, so tickets sell quickly.
Miss Wothington concluded by saying, "It's an exciting opportunity and we encourage as many people from Year 7 to Year 13 to audition". Please find details below and further information in the audition packs sent to parents and distributed to students.
