Year 3B at Fairhaven Lake
Year 3B visited Fairhaven Lake today as part of their geography studies on map making. In the classroom, they have been learning how to use a compass correctly, working out grid references and designing their own map symbols based on OS Maps. The final part of their topic is to draw a map of Fairhaven Lake with all the things they have seen today. They must include a title, labels, a key, symbols, and label north.
'I never knew where north was and now I know it is in the same place as our classroom,' said Anika.
Zoe said, 'Today we went to Fairhaven Lake; I was with Ava. We ticked everything off on our list. It was fun and we were boiling in our hat, gloves and scarf.'
Reya reported, 'When we went to Fairhaven, we had to spot all the items on our list.'
Camilla said, 'It was fun going to Fairhaven Lake and seeing all the things especially the lake and playgrounds.'
During our trip, it was quite warm (probably the fact I had my coat, hat and scarf on!). It was very interesting seeing almost everything at the lake. Especially the tennis courts, which I always play on,' remarked Charlie.
