As the first half term comes to a close, the Reception children are certainly ready for their well-deserved holiday. The last couple of weeks have been a hive of activity, as we welcomed our Pre-School buddies for their first taster session in big school. The Reception children happily showed their nursery friends where to find resources in the classroom and how to play a painting programme on the Promethean board. We look forward to welcoming them back for another taster session next term.
Lots of outdoor learning has taken place too in between the strong winds and the storms! We have replanted our playground tubs with violas, made patterns to assist with our fine motor skills, drawn shapes trying to make sure that the corners are evident and had fun on the wheeled vehicles.
Parents and grandparents were invited in to school to celebrate Harvest and for the McMillan Coffee morning. The adults all joined in with the activities which included hedgehog making, Percy the Park Keeper puppet shows, making Percy stick puppets and adding leaves to the hand printed trees by using cotton wool buds. We all really enjoyed the adults being in the room with us and learning together.
