Fylde Council Sports – Community Project of the Year 2018

AKS Lytham Holiday & Sports Camp

AKS Lytham Holiday & Sports camp celebrated winning the 2018 Fylde Council Sports Community Project of the Year for their Summer Sports & Childcare programme based at the Fylde Coasts leading Independent School.

Community Sports Development Officer Mark Moretti along with Team members Ellis Whorlton-Jones, Sophie Jones, Eleanor Wood and current AKS Students Megan Whorlton-Jones and Mollie Mason delivered a fun and inter-active experience for all the children who attended either the Holiday Club or Sport Specific Camps.

The Summer programme also included links with local Community Clubs who came into the camps to deliver and offer their expert coaching.

Cycling - Fylde Family Cycle Club based at Park View in Lytham delivered National Standard Cycling Levels 1 & 2

Cricket – St Annes CC delivered cricket for boys and girls aged 7-11

Girls Football – Rebecca Kemp, England Deaf Futsal International and Chorley Ladies FC player came in to inspire and coach Girls ages 7-11

Hockey – AKS Student & England U18 Squad player Mollie Mason delivered fun and inter-active caching for both boys & girls ae 7-11.

The holiday Club aged more for 5-8yr olds had lots of fun inter-active learning experiences building Dens, making new friends and being entertained on a daily basis by a young and fresh team.

AKS Lytham Holiday & Sports Camps are looking to further develop and grow in the coming 2019 season and offer more opportunities for the wider community to access sports, child care and the fabulous schools facilities.

The Holiday & Sports Camp now go through to the Lancashire Sports Awards being held at the Grand Hotel in Blackpool on Friday 23rd November, good luck to Mr Moretti and his Team.
