Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Training Day
Forty four members of Year 10 took part in Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's expedition training at school on Sunday. Inside they prepared and wrote the routecards for their practice expeditions later in March and learnt about first aid. Outside they learnt how to use trangia stoves to boil water for hot drinks; practised pitching and taking down tents, counted the number of paces they would take to walk 100 metres and some of them realised they needed more warm clothing. So a very successful day with pupils learning a lot of useful life- skills.
