World Book Day

World Book Day

It's World Book Day on Thursday 7th March and we'll be getting in the mood in the Junior School by dressing up as our favourite characters.  Mr Rice has organised a fun-packed day to instil a love of reading, a passion for books and to help us bring our favourite characters to life.

We'll start by describing the characters we're wearing and then do book swap sessions where we can share our favourite books with our friends.  Our teachers will then swap classrooms to share their favourite books with different year groups - a great way to get some recommendations for books to try.

"... students will need to keep their eyes peeled to find the Golden Tickets hidden around the school and have their wits about them to solve the mysteries that will unfold... As a memento of the day, there'll also be time to get creative and create their own bookmark."

In the Senior School Library, we are celebrating World Book Day at lunchtime with a Treasure Hunt, a literary character duo challenge and a chance to win book prizes, as well as cupcakes!  All students have been given a World Book Day token which they can take to local, participating booksellers to receive a free book.

The Nursery are looking forward to welcoming our guest author, Andrew Green, for a fun afternoon exploring stories and using our imagination!
