Visitors from the Firstwald Gymnasium in Mössingen
We were pleased to welcome twenty-five German pupils and their three teachers into school for two days in March. Storm Gareth did not prevent them from walking into school from their hotel in St. Annes. The Firstwald Gymnasium in Mössingen is one of our partner schools and our pupils always enjoy their annual visit to us. AKS pupils in Years 7 to 9, who learn German, spent the two days taking our guests to their lessons and lunchtime activities. The German pupils were highly impressed by AKS, especially our facilities and the delicious food available at lunchtime and break. They also commented on how welcome they were made to feel by our AKS pupils and teachers.
Our Year 7 Germanists took part in a ‘speed-dating’ style activity during their German lesson, where they were able to ask and answer questions in groups of three. Having only started German in November, they were able to communicate well in the target language
