DofE Bronze Award - Qualifier Rehearsal

When I squeezed all my equipment into my rucksack I had no idea the lessons I would learn throughout the journey.  During my time in the fields and forestry I learnt how to manage a team; how to listen to others and how to read a map.  It’s no secret that there were times on the walks or campsite when I felt tired or like taking just one more quick break but I knew that I had to endure throughout as it would benefit me in the long run.  And it did. I walked further then I thought I ever could.  I overcame multiple hurdles that I didn’t think I could have beforehand (especially having to ration food!).

Most importantly, I realized how and what my responsibilities were as a student, leader, and team mate. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the Waddecar trip.  It was a blast!
