AKS U13 2-2 draw

AKS made a good start against a strong Bury GS team.  After a spell of sustained pressure, Bury scored a deserved goal. Harvey, Tom and George battled hard to win the midfield battle and get us back in the game.  When helping out his defence Harvey had a very debatable penalty given against him.  Reece made a fantastic save but unfortunately Bury followed in to go two up.  In the second half AKS managed to nullify the threat that was coming down the wings, with Dev and Ethan helping out Ed and Noah at full back.  Alex took his goal well to get us back in the match.  AKS pushed hard for a equaliser in the final 10 minutes.  Some great attacking play both through the middle and down the flanks created an excellent chance which George headed just wide.  With only a couple of minutes left, George scored a deserved equaliser and was mobbed by his team mates. An enjoyable game of football with a draw being the correct result.  Difficult to choose a man of the match with so many great performances, so it is shared between Reece for his penalty save and excellent performance and George for his exceptional work rate and equaliser.

Perfect conditions for what was a good game of football.  The match started very quiet with both sides not making much noise.  AKS had some brilliant possession and phases of play but struggled to make them count, until a set piece paid off, a short corner taken by Jacob lined Zac up for a well deserved goal (1-0).  AKS created some brilliant chances with some fantastic crosses from both wings, but unfortunately did not pay off.  Come on the second half!
The second half started a lot faster with AKS injecting a lot of pass into the game,  Mitch came away with a brilliant early goal (2-0).  Then another set piece plays off, a long corner into the box, Josh plays the ball off to Mitch who scores in the bottom corner (3-0).   Another set piece corner plays off, with Harry getting on the score sheet (4-0), and another to Slawson to make 5-0.  The last goal was from Harrison getting his first goal for AKS.  The fianl score of 6-0 reflected the good team effort but with some lapses in concentration and decision making.  Well played to all the boys and good effort to Jack for turning up to support the boys.

AKS U15s 8-1 loss

AKS started the game well, attacking from the first whistle and pinning Bury in their own half for long periods.  Unfortunately Bury got the first points on the board with a break away goal, followed by a carbon copy moments later.  AKS enjoys some success up the right wing through Fraser B, this pressure allowed an opportunity for Franklin W to secure a penalty after being pulled down In the box.  Bury upped their game and AKS lost their shape allowing the home side to capitalise and take 3 further goals before half time. The moment of the half came from Franklin W who performed and overhead shot at goal which was only just saved by the Bury keeper.  In the second half the two sides exchanged shots, but again it was Bury who managed to break the deadlock with three goals in quick succession.  AKS showed great tenacity, and working as a team, dominated the last fifteenminutes of the game.  This pressure created a number of opportunities for AKS and shots from Tristan, Kyle and Fraser.  The finest moment of the game came in the form of a well worked goal for AKS. Morris N tackled this man and moved the ball up the right wing to Franklin, who pushed the ball across field to Fraser on the other wing.  Getting outside hit man Fraser crossed the ball off his left foot for Matt D to connect and find the back of the net.
