AKS Carol Service 2019

The senior and prep school came together beautifully this evening to perform at our annual Carol Service in St Thomas' Church. The evening was appropriately named 'All Bells in Paradise' after a piece by Rutter. The eponymous title was the first piece that the choir performed at the event.

The full programme comrised a range of readers from across the AKS community, including current students and teachers as well as OAKS alumni. Likewise, the variety of performances were staggering, from segments of 'A Christmas Carol' performed by the Guardians of Drama interspersed with bible readings and carols. Soloists and small ensembles were balanced with performances from the choir, our Year 1 class and the full congregation.

Our whole community sang carols together, including Once in Royal David's City (with opening solo by Kirtika in year 7), O Little Town of Bethlehem; Hark the Heralds Agels Sing and O Come All Ye Faithful. The service closed on an up-beat tempo with J Jay (Year 12) singing 'Believe' (Ballard & Silvestri) with support from the choir.

"Believe in what you feel inside,

And give your dreams the wings to fly.

You'll have everything you need,

If you just believe."
