AKS Baby Room now open!
Interview with Vicky Reynolds, Nursery Manager
To celebrate the recent opening of the Baby Room in AKS' Nursery, we asked Nursery Manager, Vicky Reynolds, to tell us about the recent developments and what parents can expect from our new space:
1. When did the Baby Room open?
The Baby Room opened its doors on Monday 1st March 2021.
2. What can parents expect from the Baby Room?
The room is a newly furnished, stimulating and calming environment in which the children are nurtured by fully qualified nursery staff. They enjoy a range of activities that are age-appropriate, using a range of media and materials to encourage their interest and promote their development. Our specialist teachers in music and Spanish visit the Baby Room for weekly ten minute sessions.
The children are taught in their age-appropriate cohorts within a double-aspect classroom and dedicated garden area.
Our highly qualified staff are caring and empathetic which helps us to create a warm, welcoming environment where the children feel nurtured and confident to explore, learn and grow.
3. Have there been any surprises in welcoming such young children?
Although we are aware of the challenges faced by the babies and families in being born during the pandemic, our first babies have adapted incredibly well to the change from being at home.
4. How far in advance should parents contact you to secure a place?
The Baby Room is nearly full, so we recommend that you book a tour and register a place as far in advance as you can.
5. If you had to describe AKS Nursery in 3 words, what would they be? caring, family-centred, nurturing.
