Warm tributes have been paid to Edna Martin, formerly the much -respected School Secretary at Queen Mary School, who has died aged 99.

Mrs. Martin was the Secretary at Queen Mary School from 1961 until her retirement in 1981 and worked with three Headmistresses - Joan Harley, Joan Charlton and Margaret Ritchie.

She is remembered by many former staff, pupils and parents for her widely-admired efficiency, her first-class organisational skills and her commitment to Queen Mary School.
