Kurt Hahn said, “There’s more in you than you think” and we help our students discover it. Whether they want to build a career in the performing arts, or want to build their confidence, we encourage our students to find their path, have fun and make friends across the school.
Our Creative Arts programmes range from offering LAMDA, drama clubs, classes, GCSE and A-Level. After the huge success of our show, ‘We will Rock You’ at Lowther Pavilion in January, here’s a taste of what's coming up and what we're working on during the Spring Term:
* 9th March - Our Junior School students will take their LAMDA exams, honing their skills in poetry, prose, acting and public speaking;
* 19th March - Year 3 & 4 production of 'The Pied Piper';
* 27th March - Our Senior School Students will be performing a Drama Showcase at the AKS Ladies luncheon, featuring selected dance performances & Victoria Wood sketches (see the 'Community' Section on our school website for details if you are not a member but would like to attend this event).
Later this term and next, we're also looking forward to our GCSE students performing the work of John Godber for their exams; our A-level students performing duologues from ‘Closer’ & ‘Pool (No Water)’ for theirs; the Year 10 performance of Blood Brothers in our drama studio; and the ‘Bring me Sunshine’ community group working with our Drama Ambassadors to create an inter-generational piece about loneliness.
