Welcome to our new Head of AKS Junior School, Mrs Ilhan.

You can read all about Mrs Ilhan here.

We believe that every child is unique, each having their own special qualities that makes him or her stand out from the crowd. We pride ourselves in teasing out those attributes, allowing our pupils to develop and grow thus giving each individual a springboard to whatever life has in store.

Our outstanding Nursery creates the ideal foundation for our pupils, stimulating and nurturing their natural curiosity through a plethora of activities and outings and through the constant care and conversation of the committed team of Nursery Nurses.

As pupils progress through the Junior School they benefit from the care and wisdom of a truly dedicated and loyal team of teachers and teaching assistants, working in stimulating and well-resourced classrooms.  Our superb new school building is bursting with excellent facilities to fire the imagination of every child.  From bright and colourful classrooms and extensive play areas to stimulating learning zones and excellent IT, AKS is the perfect place for your child to develop and thrive.  For further fabulous reasons view our booklet here.

We have high expectations of our pupils in all aspects of school life, requiring them to achieve the very best that they can and, in return, providing them with the support, guidance and encouragement they need to reach their potential. Our pupils are very considerate of the feelings of others, supporting each other with kind words or gestures, caring for their environment and consequently creating a happy family atmosphere throughout the school.

This positive attitude and team ethos allow us to give the pupils an increased level of responsibility as they move through the school, putting them in the position of leaders, organisers and facilitators in a whole range of situations. Because they perform and achieve in a wide and varied range of opportunities, pupils transfer to the Senior School as confident, well-mannered and independent individuals ready to take on the challenges of the next stage in their education. Close links with the Senior School allow for an easy transition from Year 6 to Year 7 and our pupils already know many of the teachers and much of the environment to which they are moving.

We warmly welcome you and your family into school to uncover more about how we find and develop the best in everyone.  Please contact the Admissions Secretary, Liz Wyatt, on 01253 784104 or email her at to arrange a tour or a 'taster day' and discover how your child can begin their AKS Adventure!
