Ladies' Luncheon Club
September 2020 Update
The AKS Ladies’ Luncheon Club is sorry to announce that we are unable to host any lunches or events for the foreseeable future, due to the impact of Covid-19 and the guidelines surrounding hospitality. The committee with the agreement of our President, Holly Harrow have agreed to put the club into a moratorium for one school year, with existing committee members agreeing to continue in post for the time being.
The AGM planned for Wednesday 14 October 2020 is therefore cancelled. We hope to announce that the AGM planned for Wednesday 13 October 2021 will be able to go ahead.
The AKS Ladies’ Luncheon Club has been a sociable way to meet other women who form part of the AKS Community. We would normally meet during the school year once a month from November to May on Wednesday lunchtime at The Clifton Arms Hotel, Lytham. The club raises money for the school through the proceeds of our raffle.
We’ve had talks from local historians, talks on bee keeping and herbalism, as well as wonderful performances by the school choir at Christmas.
Membership of the club is open to women with an interest in the school; many of our ladies are alumni as well as mothers and grandmothers of current pupils, so we span a wide age-range. We look forward to welcoming members, new and old, when it is safe to do so.
Obviously, should things change before October 2021, we will be only too happy to sort out trips and events for anyone wishing to participate.
