Safeguarding

At AKS we are dedicated to ensuring that all pupils feel safe, cared for and happy. Safeguarding the pupils is at the centre of what we do every day.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Philip Hayden. He should be your first point of contact for all safeguarding matters, and can be emailed at Philip.Hayden@akslytham.com.

You can also report a safeguarding concern anonymously:

Click here to access our anonymous reporting service for pupils, families and the local community. This enables you to send an anonymous message to a confidential school email account managed by Mr Hayden who works with experienced staff, trained in responding to issues. We will not store any personal information if you use this service.

Internet safety and CEOP

It is very important that everyone stays safe whilst online. The internet is a great place to learn and communicate with other people. If you have any concerns about anything online please speak to a relative or teacher.

CEOP stands for 'Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre'. The organisation's aim is to eradicate the sexual abuse of children. It is part of UK policing and works with a variety of national and international agencies to investigate wrongdoing. You can access the CEOP website here  which is packed full of information for children and parents/carers, as well as additional support and advice here provided by Parent Info from CEOP and the Parent Zone.

Reporting inappropriate behaviour online

You can make a report to CEOP if someone has acted inappropriately towards you online, or to a child or young person you know. It may be sexual chat, being asked to do something that makes you feel uncomfortable or someone being insistent on meeting up. You can report it by clicking here.

Safe Spaces

Vent, our student support team, have created a video to explain what help is available to students both inside and outside school.

Wellbeing

As part of our AKS In Conversation series, Mr Hayden (Deputy Head, Pastoral), Mrs Marland (Assistant Head, Student and Staff Development) and Helen Hotchkiss, our school Matron, came together to discuss the various ways in which we support student wellbeing

Full details of our Safeguarding policy, as well as our other policies, can be found here.

The information will be sent to our Desigated Safeguarding Leads, Mr Hayden for the Senior School or Mrs Ilhan for the Preparatory School. Please try to include as much detail as you can.
