Milan Football Tour, 2024

From start to finish, AKS Milan 2024 was a success in every way. Fifty-two students from Years 8 and 9 travelled to Italy to train with Inter Milan and play friendly development fixtures against footballing academies associated with the club.

The week was built around training sessions with Inter's staff at the Konami training facility where they experienced elite coaching sessions throughout the duration of our stay. They were exposed to tactical, physical and technical development as part of the 'Inter' way. When we were not training, the jam-packed itinerary included visiting the famous 'San Siro' stadium which is home to both Inter and AC Milan. We also visited Gardaland Theme park for a day, had a tour of Inter HQ, had a guided tour of the city centre and an excursion out to see the beautiful Lake Como.

Throughout the tour, the students conducted themselves in an exemplary fashion for which I applaud every member of the group. Tours such as these are not only for sporting and cultural development, they are also a vehicle for students to grow as people away from home comforts to develop their independence and make lifelong memories with their friends.

I would like to personally thank the touring AKS staff who gave up their own time to lead the trip and provide such an amazing opportunity for the students. Without their goodwill, tours like this would not happen.
