On Saturday, AKS U11 Hockey Team travelled to CHS. They played a competitive game, narrowly losing 1-0, when a draw would have been the fairest result. There were some impressive skills and tenacity on show from all the players.

U11A played in the Rossall Invitational Hockey Tournament on Wednesday. In the first group match, they narrowly lost to SMH, the eventual winners, in an end to end game. They then played Rossall B and were convincing 5-0 winners, scoring most of the goals from build up play down the right wing. The final group saw a hard fought draw against King's Macclesfield. Unfortunately, AKS missed out on going through by 1 goal and played in the Plate Competition.

In the semi finals, the team swept aside Windermere by 4 unanswered goals. The final against Queen's School Chester also proved very one sided with AKS victorious by 3 goals to 0.

Overall, the team scored 12 goals (9 by captain Penny, 2 from Ella and Winnie netting the other) and only conceded 2, helped by some excellent goal keeping from Emily. Genevieve, Harriet and Blythe were excellent in defence and Poppy contributed well to the attacking forward line.

The team have improved greatly over recent weeks which is a credit to all their hard work.
