Senior girls:
A great win for the girls today. Bowling was led by Evie F and well supported by Beth R, Kate S, Laura K, Kate R and Eve C. A little loose in the field and a little bit of inaccuracies with the ball meant that Giggleswick built a defendable score of 74. This was achieved within 13 overs. Beth R leading the way with a 21 retirement, Olivia M hitting a quick 15, and some excellent boundaries by Evie F, Katie S, and Laura K.

U12:
U12 lost by 4 wickets to a solid Kirkham side. AKS set a total of 100 in their innings with Rupert W retiring on 30. Facing 6 good bowlers the runs were well-earned. AKS bowled well across all of the team and limited Kirkham for long periods of the game. Two strong batters in their opening four ultimately won the game for them. AKS 101 - 4, Kirkham 102 - 2
U11:
U13 - Kirkham 6/98 def AKS 85/9
Maanav V 2/11, Freddie B 39no off 41 balls. Kirkham set a good total, with AKS bowling and fielding well in patches. Our batting did not fair as well, with many missed opportunities allowing Kirkham to be on top in the first half of the innings. Freddie B was in fine touch and constructed an excellent innings that put AKS within touching distance towards the end. However, it wasn’t to be and Kirkham’s consistency across the board saw them run out victors by 14 runs.
U14:
Tough day for the U14s. Kirkham set a target of 157, AKS managed only 85. We only had 10 Men due to last-minute drop-outs.
U15:
U15 lost to Kirkham by 79 runs
Kirkham batted first and managed a respectable 165-6. They had to work for it with good fielding and near bowling from Urquhart, Green, Curran and Flintoff. In response, Urqhart, Curran and Harris all looked comfortable but we were unable to threaten their score bowled out for 86.
There is more to come from this team but as a cohesive group their focus is often away from the task in hand. Talent wise I believe we were capable of matching Kirkham, but our mindset is a world apart. Plenty to work on.
